19 of Medvedev's twenty-one championships have been won on hardcourt

A resurgent the Russian player won his initial trophy for nearly 30 months with a win over opponent Moutet in the tournament title decider.

The athlete, a ex- world number one, has endured a challenging year, managing just one match at the major tournaments and suffering a setback at the American major.

The player's unpredictability on the tennis tour - and struggles with his serve in particular - caused him falling of the elite rankings and ultimately splitting with former coach his previous coach.

Presently collaborating with Thomas Johansson and Goetzke, the tennis star has consistently advanced in the last few weeks - climaxing in a hard-fought three-set triumph over Frenchman Moutet.

This represents Medvedev's maiden title after the Italian tournament and maiden on a hard court from spring of 2023.

Success also indicates the Russian has achieved twenty-one championships at twenty-one different events.

"This marks the first occasion I'm at a tournament with my both daughters at once, so to get a championship is particularly special," stated world number 14 Daniil Medvedev.

"This title is in honour of my child my daughter, because the first title I achieved when my older daughter my daughter was born was for her."

The athlete, the 2021 US Open champion, had been defeated in his past six finals, featuring in Halle earlier this year.

Medvedev's counter-punching play style and recurring emotional displays on the playing surface had caused commentators to doubt if his skill to perform at the top level was over.

But the athlete has implemented adjustments in the last few weeks, attempting to approach the net and compete aggressively, backed up by an enhanced serve.

Medvedev came back from a deficit in the opening set against the challenging Frenchman, winning four of the concluding five points to take the lead.

The pair exchanged service breaks in the middle set before Moutet, bidding for his first professional title, gained dominance to create a decider.

He saved four early chances in a close deciding set before Medvedev broke to 15 to secure the win.

Appropriately, the winner clinched the win with a shot at the front of the court, with the Frenchman unable to control a shot after a lengthy match.
